My name is Reuben Smith, and I’m a designer/ illustrator based in Wellington, New Zealand!

I’ve been a practising freelance designer ever since my graduation from Victoria University in 2026. Growing up in rural New Zealand, I’ve been passionate about creating art in as many forms as possible and now, studying design through my young adult years, have developed a sharp creative sensibility and high degree of craft.

The key tenant of my practice as a designer is curiosity. My work is always in constant conversation with all the art which I see around, drawing equal inspiration from great film-makers and fashion designers as I do fellow graphic artists. This comes from my belief that all artistic works should not just exist insularly but as a connecting force between community, earth & individual experience. In the end, design is my vehicle to follow my aesthetic curiosities and locate myself within the many artistic traditions that I am lucky enough to discover and explore.

Always a pleasure, Peace & Love, Reuben
